Notably, he was recognized with the Impacting Lives honor by the New Journal & Guide newspaper in November 2016, and he received the Distinguished Alumni award from the Norfolk Education Foundation for his dedication to the community.
For over a decade, Leonard's passion for education and belief in its transformative power has led him to establish a meaningful and enduring partnership with the 900 Men Strong Scholarship committee. Throughout this period, we have been dedicated to providing scholarships to deserving high school seniors in the Hampton Roads area, creating valuable opportunities for their higher education. As an alumnus of Norfolk State University (NSU), Leonard specifically directs some of these scholarships towards students attending NSU, wholeheartedly supporting the growth and development of future leaders.
A pillar of support and love, Leonard has been happily married to his wife Sandra for over 40 years and is the proud father of two children, Kyleah and Kyle.
